Center for Insurance and Risk Management

Get an Edge on Your Future

There are three ways to set yourself apart after graduation in this competitive job market; select an outstanding university to attend, get practical experience with an internship and add an emphasis to your major or field of study. At Creighton’s Heider College of Business, students interested in Finance careers get all three of these opportunities and more.

CFIRM for Undergraduates

Undergraduate finance majors can choose an emphasis by selecting a track in Financial Planning or Insurance and Risk Management.

Financial Planning
Our financial planning track will prepare you to sit for the CFP® exam. The CFP® is a premier designation in the financial planning profession. By completing all of the required fields of study to sit for the CFP® exam, you will demonstrate clearly to potential employers that your level of commitment and understanding of the industry goes above and beyond that of most graduating business students.

Insurance and Risk Management
The insurance and risk management track plan of study will help you meet the academic requirements for the CLU® or ChFC® through the American College. Pair that with a few internships and you could have the professional experience required for the designation by the time you graduate. By graduating with most of the requirements for the CLU® or ChFC® completed, you’ll enter the job market ahead of many other industry professionals.
