If your student is new to Omaha, you may have some questions about getting settled in a new city. Be sure to check out our map of places to shop for college supplies, pick up prescriptions, or grab a bite to eat. Omaha balances plenty to do with a cost of living that is friendly to a college budget.
The student portal has lots of valuable information tailored to your student’s next steps. Encourage them to check it often for updates and resources. In the meantime, review a checklist of items to tackle.

This will also mark the beginning of Welcome Week, a time to become oriented with campus and get to know your new classmates. Check out our list of what to pack for your first year on campus.
Welcome Week is the orientation process that all students go through. Your student will be in small student groups, according to their freshman advisor (or RSP advisor), who will lead them through a one-credit class called RSP (Ratio Studiorum Program).

Tuition is billed by semester. You can choose to pay tuition in one lump sum or in a payment plan. If you choose to pay tuition in one lump sum, it is due by the first day of class. If you choose to use the payment plan, the first due date can be as early as June 10 (depending on how many payments you choose to split it up into).
