The Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program sponsored by Creighton University School of Medicine - Phoenix is executed through rotations at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Valleywise Health, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. This is a new ACGME approved program in which there is much excitement as we look forward to our first fellows in July. I have had the privilege of being a Fellowship Program Director at Washington University in St. Louis, and 23 years at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. My Associate Program Director, Dr. Mehrdad Saririan, who is also the Site Director for Valleywise Health, has over a decade of experience in teaching medical residents. This is the final phase of your career training and we are honored and pleased to share our experience with you. We recognize that cardiology is a fast moving specialty in which knowledge doubles every 4-5 years. This demands we educate and train our fellows to acquire the necessary knowledge not only while in training but throughout their future careers. Through didactic lectures, journal club, national conferences, and local presentations, our fellows will acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills to critically analyze future published advances.
