Important Dates

  • June 5, 2024: 2025 ERAS season begins
  • September 4, 2024: Applicants may begin submitting applications to residency programs through ERAS at 8:00 am (CST)
  • September 25, 2024: Residency programs begin reviewing applications
  • October 2024 - January 2025: Internal Medicine Residency Training Program Interview Process
    • Our Internal Medicine Residency Program will conduct interviews virtually for all applicants through Thalamus
  • March 2025: National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) main residency match results

Application Requirements

  • For the 2025 ERAS cycle, our program will be participating in the Supplemental ERAS Application offered through the AAMC's ERAS program

  • Transcripts
    • Medical School
    • USMLE/Equivalent Step 1 and 2CK
    • ECFMG Status Report (IMGs only)
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (1 LOR from Chair or Designee of your Department of Medicine)
  • Dean's Letter (MSPE)
  • Photograph
  • Must be within three (3) years from medical school graduation including two (2) years of clinical experience with a minimum of six (6) months clinical experience in the US (hands-on experience preferred but not required)
  • To be considered for selection, eligible applicants must be either a US citizen, seeking a J-1 Visa, or have permanent resident status (green card). Our program only accepts J-1 ECFMG certified Visa.

Process and Communication

  • Applicants should apply through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS)
  • Applications are screened by our Selection Committee utilizing a holistic review
  • We use a multi-criteria-based selection process and therefore do not provide minimum USMLE/equivalent score requirements
  • Invitation for interview will be sent to the applicant through Thalamus
  • Date selection process:
    • Self-scheduling dates will be locked seven (7) days prior to scheduled interview date
    • Our program will not be using waitlist scheduling so you will not see this option
  • Applicant will receive email communication through Thalamus including details of your virtual interview day

What is Your Interview Day Like?

  • Your interview will be done virtually using the Thalamus virtual interview platform
  • A pre-interview open house with our Resident Team of the Day using the Gather app will be held the evening prior to your scheduled interview day
  • Your interview day will be 2.5 hours consisting of:
    • Program Director welcome and introduction
    • Two (2) faculty interviews
    • Breakout sessions with the R3 Recruitment Champion on Life as a Resident
    • Resident Team of the Day round table sessions
    • Formal conclusion with the R3 Recruitment Champion
