This can vary based on the program and how the admission committee operates. For some programs, applications will be forwarded to the admission committee for review as soon as it is complete, and a decision will be made the next time the admission committee meets. For other programs, specifically those more competitive in nature, all applications will be reviewed at the same time for one admission cycle. Your enrollment specialist is in contact with the admission committees and will be happy to help you better understand what to expect for your selected program.
An application is considered complete when all materials the admission committee has deemed necessary to make an admission decision have been received. Typically, this includes a complete application, resume, personal statement, letters of recommendation, and transcripts. For a list of required items, please visit the program page, or you can log into choose.creighton.edu/status after submission of an application to track what items we have received.
Yes, you should be in contact with your references before inviting them to complete a letter of recommendation for you, and you should be following up after you invite them to ensure they received the invitation and regarding the timeline for completion. We do not send them reminders, but you can by visiting your applicant portal at choose.creighton.edu/status.
Official transcripts should be sent directly to Creighton from the originating institution. Transcriptions from all institutions attended must be submitted*, even if credit was earned and transferred elsewhere in the meantime.
You have two options for submitting official transcripts:
If you are unable to obtain an official transcript at this time, please contact an Enrollment Specialist at 402.280.2703 to discuss your options.
Applicants of nursing programs should report high school information, but are not required to submit high school transcripts.
