Teaching Assistantships

The TA application is now closed. Applications for the following semester are typically available around registration time.

Eligibility:

  • Students who have successfully completed a full year of General and/or Advanced Chemistry lecture/lab are eligible to apply to be a TA for General Chemistry Laboratories.
  • Students who have also successfully completed a full year of Organic Chemistry lecture/lab are eligible to apply to be a TA for Organic Chemistry Laboratories.
  • Students who have successfully completed CHM 381/382 are eligible to apply for a Biochemistry Laboratory TA position.
  • All applications received within the deadline will receive equal consideration - please do not apply until your class schedule has been finalized.

Tutors

We think Chemistry is fun, but we also know that some concepts can be difficult to grasp. Whether students find themselves struggling or they just need a little refresher, they can take advantage of Drop-in or 1:1 Tutoring options available through the Academic Success program in The Creighton Edge.

1:1 Tutoring through BluePoint:

  1. Go to the Academic Success Tutoring page. Scroll down to 1:1 Tutoring and click on SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. At the BluePoint login page, enter your NetID and password. (You may also access BluePoint directly at Go to success.creighton.edu. Scroll down to 1:1 Tutoring and click on SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. At the BluePoint login page, enter your NetID and password. (You may also access BluePoint directly at Go to success.creighton.edu. Scroll down to 1:1 Tutoring and click on SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. At the BluePoint login page, enter your NetID and password. (You may also access BluePoint directly at creighton.edu/bluepoint.)
  2. Click on NEW APPOINTMENT.
  3. Under SUBJECT AREA, begin typing the name of your course. When it appears, select it. Click SEARCH.
  4. You will see a list of tutors for the course. Click the down arrow on to view appointments available for the next 10 days.
  5. Find an appointment that works with your schedule and click on the box. Enter the required information in the pop-up window and click ACCEPT.
  6. Confirm your appointment!
