Upward Bound Programs

Overview

Upward Bound Programs (UBP) are federally funded programs designed to assist students in developing the academic skills and personal growth necessary for successful completion of high school and admission to a four-year university. Upward Bound Programs at Creighton University are for Omaha metropolitan area high school students who demonstrate a strong desire to complete higher education. These programs supplement students' high school experience with academic preparation, career exploration, and cultural/social-development opportunities. UBP consists of Classic Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math & Science.

Classic Upward Bound (CUB)

Classic Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits, including preparation for college admission. The goal of Classic Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.

Upward Bound Math & Science Center (UBMSC)

The Upward Bound Math and Science program is designed to foster further excellence in students who are interested in obtaining a career in the math and sciences. UBMSC can help students develop their passion for math and science and encourage the development of key academic skills, so that these students can go on to pursue post-secondary degrees in the fields of math and science.
