Student Handbook & Field Practicum Manual

Social work is a practice-based discipline that is focused on improving the fit and function of individuals and their environment. Due the direct work with and on behalf of vulnerable and oppressed populations, students must be focused on meeting the needs of those they serve. Social work courses help students self-assess their biases, motives, and goals in social work; as well as provide direction and practice in skills to help students and professionals sustain in a demanding field of work.

The below link provides access to the Student Handbook and Field Practicum Manual, which contains the policies, procedures, and expectations for student performance, advancement, and conduct. Students must read and agree to abide by these expectations and policies in order to be admitted to the Social Work major. Students have access to this resource from this website as well as within the online course shell accompanying each social work course.
