The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) program provides information, advising, and application assistance for enrollment in post-secondary education - all at no cost to participants. As a participant, you can receive support in the following areas:

  • Information on how to apply to colleges and universities
  • Application fee assistance
  • Help completing college admissions forms and applications
  • Guidance on choosing a major/program of study
  • Support with transferring to a 4-yr college or university
  • Enroll in GED classes through Creighton’s EOC program
  • No-cost practice and official GED tests
  • 24/7 access to online GED assistance
  • Help identifying your goals after earning your diploma
  • Explanation of the financial aid process
  • Discussion of options for paying for college
  • Assistance with completing and filing financial aid forms, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which determines Pell Grant eligibility
  • Information on searching and applying for local, state, and private scholarships and grants
  • Guidance on managing defaulted student loans
  • Counseling on financial and economic literacy
  • Career assessments to discover your interests and aptitude
  • Information on colleges and vocational/technical programs aligned with your interests
