Teams are often coached by a student or staff volunteer. Some teams will hire external coaches, who are paid by the club through their dues.

What is the time commitment to join a club team?

Clubs recognize that students are students first. Students can expect to spend around six hours per week with their team, but this varies from club to club. Contact the club president for more information.

How long does a season last?

The length of the season and frequency of competitions depend on the sport. Upcoming competition dates can be found by searching for the team’s page in CUInvolved, or by contacting the club president.

How often do teams practice?

Teams typically practice between 2-4 times per week, but this varies from club to club. Contact the club president for more information.

Travel is dependent on the club and its schedule. Common travel locations include Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Some clubs will travel further based on post-season eligibility. Clubs may travel as far as Florida or California. Upcoming competition dates can be found by searching for the team’s page in CUInvolved, or by contacting the club president.

Yes, athletes need to provide their own equipment.

Are there fees or costs associated with joining the team?

All sport clubs have dues. Specific amounts can be found by contacting club presidents.

Can I start a new club? What resources are provided to students interested in starting a club?

No. Club sports participants have access to the two athletic facilities open to all students. Access to the NCAA Division I teams’ facilities and services is not provided.
