Who coaches the club teams?

  • Traditional club teams are often coached by a student or staff volunteer. Premier club teams are coached by professional staff.

  • Clubs recognize that students are students first. Students can expect to spend around six hours per week with their team, but this varies from club to club.

How long does a season last?

  • The length of the season and frequency of competitions depend on the sport. Upcoming competition dates can be found by searching for the team’s page in CUInvolved, or by contacting the club president.

Where and when do the teams travel?

  • Travel is dependent on the club and its schedule. Common travel locations include Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Illinois and Wisconsin. Some clubs will travel farther based on post-season eligibility. Clubs may travel as far as Florida or California. Upcoming competition dates can be found by searching for the team’s page in CUInvolved, or by contacting the club president.

Do I need to move in early for the club teams or stay over the summer for training?

  • Clubs are not permitted to move in early or stay over the summer for club-related activities.

Do I need to buy my own equipment?

  • Most sport clubs have dues. Specific amounts can be found by contacting club presidents.

Can I start a new club? What resources are provided to students interested in starting a club?

  • Yes! Many new clubs are created every year. If there is a club team that you would like to initiate, professional staff will guide you through the process.

How are club sports different than intramural sports?
