Nearly 1,130 freshmen, 42% male / 58% female, 40% coming from 400+ miles away, 13% first-generation, 25 international students, 15 states with more than 10 students each

For more than a decade, Creighton University has welcomed over 1,000 freshmen each year into our vibrant community of scholars. This year, we are excited to greet nearly 1,130 new students, making the Class of 2028 the third largest in our history.

Academically, this class continues our tradition of excellence, with more than one-third of students ranking in the top 10% of their high school class and nearly half earning a GPA of 4.0 or higher. And 50% have expressed interest in pursuing graduate and professional programs after graduation, indicating a strong drive to advance in their chosen fields.  These new Bluejays are poised for success and ready to contribute to the Creighton legacy.

Beyond academics, over 80% of the incoming freshman class participated in volunteer service in high school, coming to Creighton not just as students but as leaders and catalysts for positive change, ready to serve and uphold the University’s mission.

Near and far, students are flocking here.

265 students, or 24% of the class, are from our home state, Nebraska. But 40% come from more than 400 miles away. With more than 150 students from Minnesota, 125 students coming from Colorado and 25 international students, the Class of 2028 is sure to meet new friends and create lasting memories.

When considering enrollment across all schools and colleges, along with the approximately 850 students at our Phoenix campus, the total Creighton University student body this year approaches 8,400.

As we officially welcome the Class of 2028 into the flock on August 20, we eagerly anticipate the exceptional talent and ambition they will bring to our campus. Here’s to another transformative year of academic growth and self-discovery for our Bluejays.
