Dr. Frank Sleder earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 1979. He subsequently attended the Creighton University School of Dentistry, where he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1984. Following graduation, Dr. Sleder practiced general dentistry for 18 months before joining the United States Air Force. While stationed at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Michigan, he served as the designated endodontist, where he developed a passion for performing root canal therapy.
Dr. Sleder then accepted a full-time position as an Assistant Professor in the Endodontic Department at the Creighton University School of Dentistry, a role he held for three years. He subsequently pursued advanced training and completed a residency in Endodontics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning his Certificate in Endodontics.
After completing his residency, Dr. Sleder returned to private practice, where he dedicated 25 years to patient care while also contributing his expertise to Creighton’s Endodontic Department on a part-time basis. In September 2018, he rejoined Creighton University as a full-time Associate Professor of Endodontics. Dr. Sleder has been the director of the sophomore Endo Lecture Course (END233) and co-director of the sophomore Endontic Lab (END234) since 2022.
