Mandy Whiddon, JD

Dean Whiddon joined Creighton University School of Law as assistant dean of career development in 2016. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in liberal studies from The University of Montana and went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law. During her time in law school, she co-wrote the essay, “Student Grades: A Portal for Corporatizing the Academy” with Clarence E. Burns and Thomas R. Whiddon in What is Wrong With Academia Today?: Essays on the Politicization of American Education (2008).

Prior to joining Creighton University School of Law, Dean Whiddon was a solo practitioner with a busy practice that focused on criminal defense,  family law and juvenile law. She represented numerous individuals in matters that ranged from attempted murder to post-conviction claims, as well as handled a multitude of custody and divorce matters. Dean Whiddon also performed extensive work as a Guardian ad Litem in which she advocated for the needs of children. Dean Whiddon is licensed to practice law in Iowa and Nebraska and is a member of the Omaha Bar Association, the Pottawattamie County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  

Dean Whiddon handles all aspects of career development at Creighton University School of Law, including professional development through services such as individual counseling, educational programming, interviewing opportunities and job postings.
