Donald Kleine currently sits at the Douglas County Attorney, an elected position responsible for the criminal prosecution of all felony crimes that occur within the jurisdiction of Douglas County. Formerly he was the Chief of the Criminal Bureau of the Nebraska Department of Justice. Mr. Kleine prior to that was the Chief Deputy Attorney for the Douglas County Attorney’s Office. His responsibilities include trying many of the high profile criminal cases for Douglas County. He is a certified legal instructor by the Nebraska Commission of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. He serves on the Nebraska Judicial Resources Commission, the Nebraska Supreme Court Subcommittee on Criminal Jury Instructions, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Nebraska County Attorneys Association. Prior to becoming chief deputy for Douglas County in 1991, he was in private practice with an emphasis on civil litigation and criminal defense.
