Laura K . Gill, EdD
Assistant Professor
Laura Gill (Ed.D. Creighton University; M.S. South Dakota State University) joined Creighton in the Fall of 2008. She has taught Digital Communication Lab; Theories of Leadership and Organizational Change; Relationships, Work, and Culture; and Managerial Communication. Laura has experience developing and teaching online classes, including the Digital Communication Lab course; Talk to me, TED: Leadership, Social Media, and Communication; Managerial Communication; and Theories of Leadership. She has also previously served as an advisor in the Ratio Studiorum Program and worked with the Freshman Leadership Program.
Laura is the Director of the Communication Center and enjoys working with students of various experience levels gain confidence speaking in front of others. She often works with students who exhibit high speech anxiety overcome their fear of public speaking.
Laura coached Speech and Debate students from 2004 to 2014. Numerous students successfully earned spots in a variety of Individual Events outrounds at the American Forensics Association National Individual Events Tournament and the National Forensics Association Tournament. She coached the National Champion of Program Oral Interpretation, Whitney Rice, in 2008 and Creighton's first National Champion of Prose Interpretation, Chris Fowler, in 2010.
