Professor
Dr. Lee Dunham is a professor of finance and the Department Chair of economics and finance at Creighton University Heider College of Business. The classes he teaches include Managerial Finance, Equity Analysis and Applied Finance Research. He is passionate about teaching and committed to bridging the gap between theory and practice in the classroom, an idea that he believes was missing from his finance courses during his undergraduate and graduate studies.
After working in the private sector for nearly ten years, Dr. Dunham chose to pursue a career in academia. He says, “My best days at work in the finance industry could never compete with the strong sense of achievement I feel when I witness a student’s ‘light-bulb moment’ during class.”
His ongoing research interests include FinTech, mutual funds, agency theory and payout policy.
Dr. Dunham received his BSBA in Finance and his MBA from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, his MS in Financial Economics from the University of New Orleans and his PhD in Finance from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. In addition to academia, Dr. Dunham enjoys traveling, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, watching live sporting events and spending time with his family.
