Prior to becoming a faculty member in the Business Intelligence & Analytics department, Anton Ames spent 20 years in various professional and executive roles.  His background includes working as a VP & Chief Information Officer, Director of IT, Director of Application  Development & Data Services, Project Manager, ERP Consultant, Network Administrator and other technology support roles.  He also owns and operates the Anton Ames Group™, an IT management consulting firm focused on business process improvement. The driving force behind his career has been his passion for implementing solutions that provide business value, leading him from the front lines of IT—where he gained invaluable experience and the customer’s perspective—to the top ranking IT official, where his responsibilities, among many, included developing and implementing multi-year technology plans.  In addition, Anton served as a Lecturer in the UMKC Executive MBA program for five years, teaching Information Technology & Business Intelligence as a Strategic Tool, and is a regular speaker at business and technology conferences today.

Anton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management  / Computer Information Systems from Park University in Parkville, Missouri and an M.B.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Bloch School of Management.
