The Scott Scholarship is Creighton’s premier merit-based scholarship program, made possible through the generosity of the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation. The Scott Scholars program seeks to attract and equip future business leaders, who are entrepreneurial in spirit and strive for excellence, innovation and community impact.

Strengths of the Program

The Scott Scholarship provides full tuition, food and housing, as well as distinctive programming and engagement with the Omaha business community to further develop scholars’ networks and maximize their potential.

What makes me a good fit for the Scott Scholars program?

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a first-time University student or immediate high school graduate
  • Minimum 3.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale at time of admission
  • Minimum 28 ACT or 1300 SAT
  • US Citizen
  • Intend to pursue a business degree and work in the business field
  • Driven, high-achieving students committed to academic excellence
  • Leadership-focused, with demonstrated leadership experience and a desire to grow leadership skills
  • Business acumen, developed through business-oriented coursework, activities or work experience and a desire to launch a career in business

Scott Scholars Four-year plan

  • Enroll in the Scott Scholar’s RSP section (Fall semester, one-credit freshman seminar)
  • Attend Heider College of Business Dean’s Executive Speaker series (weekly, spring semester)
  • Participate as a mentee in the Scott Scholars’ Mentorship program
  • Complete Anna Tyler Waite Leadership Program, Year 1
  • Complete Career Portfolio Program, Year 1
  • Participate in Dean’s Honor Roll for Social Responsibility and complete 25 service hours per semester
  • Attend to Scott Scholars socials and special events
  • Receive to up to $2000 in annual funding for approved professional development and/or enrichment experiences
  • Enroll in the Scott Scholars weekly seminar (personal and professional development, company visits/tours and networking)
  • Serve as a mentor in Scott Scholars’ Mentorship program
  • Complete Anna Tyler Waite Leadership Program, Year 2
  • Complete Career Portfolio Program, Year 2
  • Participate in Dean’s Honor Roll for Social Responsibility and complete 25 service hours per semester
