Associate Dean of Graduate Nursing Programs

Description

Creighton University College of Nursing is seeking a visionary, dynamic, and experienced nursing leader to serve as the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs. This full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position presents an exciting opportunity to influence the future of nursing education while contributing to the growth and innovation of our graduate programs. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned nursing leader with a comprehensive understanding of both current and emerging trends in graduate education and a passion for research. This candidate will possess the ability to lead strategically and operationally across diverse graduate nursing program tracks in its BSN-DNP, MSN, MSN-DNP, and Post-Graduate Certificate programs.  These tracks include:

 

  • Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
  • Pediatric Primary and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Dual Degree)
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner
  • Nursing Administration & Leadership
  • Nurse Anesthesia

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of curricula for the doctoral, masters, and post-graduate certificate programs in the CON.
  • Collaborate with graduate faculty to promote continuous quality improvement and a culture of  innovation in the graduate nursing program while ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, national practice standards, state board regulations, and program outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and the Senior Associate Dean for Academics to ensure alignment across academic offerings.
  • Engage with national trends and policies in graduate nursing education to anticipate future needs and ensure the programs remain cutting-edge and competitive.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Dean, contributing innovative ideas and driving initiatives that align with the mission and vision for the college and its research and scholarship trajectory.
  • Empower program track leads and graduate faculty through mentorship, feedback, and development while fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, faculty and staff.
  • Make well-informed programmatic decisions by gathering feedback from subject matter experts and using this input to offer effective leadership that promotes progress and ensures successful execution of decisions. 
  • Manage the graduate program faculty and staff, including conducting performance evaluations, resolving personnel issues, and offering guidance to improve performance and effectiveness.
  • Develop strategies to grow and sustain enrollment in graduate programs while maintaining high academic standards.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Associate Dean for Academics on the preparation of accreditation reports, self-studies, and site visit documentation.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement the College’s systematic evaluation plan. 

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in nursing education with rank and experience commensurate with associate or full professor.
  • Current unencumbered licensure as an RN and/or a multi-state privilege to practice nursing in the state of Nebraska.
  • Expertise in graduate nursing education, with a forward-thinking vision for its advancement, particularly in curriculum development and competency-based education.
  • Proven track record of leadership and management combined with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with academic leaders and community stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
