Assistant/Associate Professor of Periodontics/Implant Surgical Program Coordinator

Description

Creighton University School of Dentistry is seeking a motivated individual to support the didactic and clinical curricula of the school including patient services through the School’s pre-doctoral clinic model. The 12-month, teaching-research clinical sciences tenure-track position will work with a team of dedicated faculty who are building on a rich legacy of excellence in dental education and expanding our capacity as a national resource in the dental profession.

Responsibilities include supporting the delivery of the periodontal curriculum in the preclinical courses, labs and clinic. The position will also serve as the Implant Surgical Program Coordinator with responsibilities related to implant curriculum, policies and protocols for implant surgical care, credentialing of surgical faculty, surgical inventory management, quality assurance processes, implant case planning/design and implant and periodontal surgical care. Primary appointment will be in the Department of Periodontics. Academic rank and salary will be based upon qualifications.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A certificate in periodontics from an ADA accredited program
  • A DDS or DMD degree, or an equivalent degree from an international program;
  • Successful completion of Part I and Part II of the National Board Dental Examination or the Integrated National Board Dental Examination prior to the date of hire; and passing of a clinical licensing exam as outlined in Nebraska licensing statutes. 
  • Candidates must possess or obtain an unrestricted Nebraska Dental License in the category for which they are eligible along with subsequent credentialing from applicable third-party payer systems.  
  • Candidates must also possess strong organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.
