Creighton University prepares students for entry into our competitive graduate and professional schools. In fact, more than one-third* of our graduates go directly to graduate or professional schools.
Through the pre-health (pre-med, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy, pre-physician assistant, pre-occupational therapy, pre-physical therapy) and pre-law advising programs offered by Student Success, you’ll have the opportunity to explore options and find the path that’s right for you. We use academic coaching, counseling and practical experiences to strengthen your candidacy for graduate or professional school–at no additional cost, unlike many other schools.
Don’t worry – you don’t have to commit right away. Student Success coaches and advisors can help you discern, pursue and reach your goals. Then, when you’re ready to hit the ground running, we’ll help you through the process.

Learning communities provide pre-professional students with opportunities in mentoring, shadowing, discernment, and special seminars.
Our Pre-Health communities provide a multi-year pathway to prepare students for admission to a professional health sciences program. Communities are in place for students exploring dentistry, medicine, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and physician assistant.
The Pre-Law communities can strengthen your application to law school through panel discussions, guest speakers and presentations about trends in legal education and the application process.
As a pre-health student, you’ll receive one-on-one advising to help you navigate the undergraduate curriculum, prepare for entry tests and build an impressive application.
You can prepare for health professional school through a wide range of undergraduate majors, as long as you complete the prerequisites–and we’ll help with that. We can also help you find the path that’s right for you.
Many pre-professional students begin their academic careers in the College of Arts and Sciences. We offer a degree in exercise science and pre-health professions. Or you can pursue a health career through a pre-healthcare track, and a pre-med plan of study in the College of Nursing.
With 9 schools and colleges on one walkable campus, Creighton provides unique interdisciplinary opportunities for pre-professional students.
For example, the Heider College of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences each offer a “3-3” program that gives you the opportunity to earn both an undergraduate degree and a law degree in six years instead of the normal seven.
