The Institute for Population Health (IPH) is committed to improving equitable health outcomes for all people in the communities we serve. We do this through an innovative, collaborative and holistic approach that looks at all aspects of health, including mental, behavioral and physical health, medical care, and social and environmental influences.
Vision: To advance health justice for all, the IPH transforms community health and healthcare through education, research, service and advocacy.
Mission: Improve health and well-being by integrating population health activities across the University, health systems, and communities through effective, authentic partnerships that advance health equity and improve access to high-value care.
Population health has been defined as, “Health outcomes of a group of individuals, including the distribution of such outcomes within the group.” (Kindig and Stoddart)
It’s an approach to care that examines the intersecting factors that affect health.
