Pregnant and Parenting Students
Creighton University is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive environment for pregnant and parenting students.
Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 protects pregnant and parenting students from harassment or discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, miscarriage, termination of pregnancy or recovery from any of these conditions.
Pregnant and parenting students have the right to request assistance through the Office of Title IX and Civil Rights Compliance. To request assistance, please fill out the Pregnant and Parenting Student Assistance Request Form.
Pregnant and Parenting Employees
Employees are not required to disclose their pregnancy or parenting status but are encouraged to speak with their supervisors or Human Resources regarding available support and benefits through the University.

Student Accessibility Services
In certain situations, students may require reasonable accommodations through Student Accessibility Services in addition to Title IX adjustments. Please visit Student Accessibility Services or contact SAS@creighton.edu for additional information on the accommodations process.
Lactation Rooms and Support
In a continued effort to support our Creighton campus community, a growing number of buildings at our campuses include lactation spaces for new mothers (login required). Lactation rooms are available for Creighton faculty, staff and students and are designed to provide private and functional space to meet a nursing parent’s needs on a timely basis. Visitors and guests to Creighton’s campus are encouraged to contact Creighton Human Resources for assistance in locating and reserving lactation rooms.
Student Counseling Services
Expecting a child while in school can be stressful. Student Counseling Services is available to help. Student Counseling Services offers free counseling sessions to Creighton students in a confidential environment.
Finances
Having a child will bring financial changes to a student’s life. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid | Creighton University for assistance.
Many undergraduates and low-income families qualify for Title XX (Nebraska Child Care Subsidy). Visit Nebraska DHHS online to learn more. The online assessment tool can also help you determine if you qualify for additional assistance with food, health care or housing. Additionally, some graduate students may qualify for childcare loans, which can be discussed with the Office of Financial Aid.
