Undergraduate Clinical Placement Coordinator - Faculty

Creighton University’s College of Nursing is seeking an appointment for a 12 month, full-time, non-tenure track faculty member to serve as the undergraduate clinical placement coordinator. This position works directly with clinical agencies to secure placement opportunities for nursing student clinical experiences.

 This on-site position is for the College’s Omaha campus.  Responsibilities include providing leadership as a liaison with clinical agencies, third party portal companies, and faculty to ensure timely placement of students in quality clinical experiences. In addition, this position provides orientation and ongoing development for clinical teaching partners (CTPs), preceptors, and contracted clinical faculty. The position also will be responsible for initiating clinical requests into placement portal systems, tracking all placements, and analyzing data related to student placements and evaluations of preceptors and clinical agency placements.  Other faculty responsibilities include those associated with service and scholarship commensurate with the College’s standards of performance and university expectations for rank.

Qualifications

Potential candidates must possess at least a master’s degree in nursing and 2 years of clinical nursing experience. An earned doctorate or enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred. The candidate must have a current unencumbered licensure as an RN in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure.

  • Ability to negotiate and advocate for quality clinical learning environments for undergraduate nursing students.

  • Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
  • Ability to function effectively as a team member, while exercising independent and critical judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or trainings.
  • Proficiency with Windows PC, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), browser-based applications, and electronic file management.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate seamlessly between multiple systems and PC programs.
  • Ability to compile data and generate reports.  This includes the ability to respond to facility audits in agreed upon timeframes.
  • Self-awareness of personal training needs: ability to locate available training materials, learn from materials, and use the training in day-to-day work environment
