Pharmacy Community Practice Residency NEW

Gain Experience with Patient Care

This Omaha-based program will allow you to build upon your Doctor of Pharmacy education, so you can develop skills in diverse patient care and practice management, as well as leadership and education. Graduates of the program are also eligible to seek board certification and pursue advanced postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies.

Residency Program Details

The community practice residency provides experience in developing, implementing and delivering community-based patient care services for multiple populations. Residents will develop these skills through direct patient care activities, interdisciplinary collaboration, and management activities that foster the economic viability of patient care services.

  • The year-long program begins on July 1 and ends on June 30
  • Two post graduate year one (PGY1) residencies are available each year
  • The program offers a competitive stipend, paid time off, and medical and dental insurance
  • The program is conducted at the Creighton University Campus Pharmacy in Omaha
  • Residents will receive financial support to attend the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ (ASHP) Midyear Clinical Meeting and Midwest Pharmacy Residents’ conference
  • The residency is accredited by the ASHP

Program Goals and Outcomes

  • Employ investigative and problem-solving skills to design, implement and complete a research project with a manuscript suitable for publication
