“My mentors at Creighton have foundationally changed my life, allowing me to be the person and scientist I am today.” -David Amorim Caldas
As a student researcher, David Amorim Caldas learned the value of communicating complex data to the average person. He studied klotho, a protein related to aging, alongside faculty mentor, Gwendalyn King, PhD, who helped him learn the ins and outs of working in a lab. As a recent graduate, David is excited to further his research in aging by obtaining a master's in medical anthropology, taking his molecular knowledge to the societal level. He says, “Creighton taught me how to communicate science so my research can have its full impact in the world.”
