JayBuck$ Overview

JayBuck$ works as a debit card, allowing you to pre-deposit money for spending. It is accessed using your Creighton ID card. Participation in the program is voluntary. There is no cost to use JayBuck$, funds carry over each semester and it can be used throughout the calendar year. The JayBuck$ program is managed by the Card Services Office.

Learn more about how the program works below.

Loading Funds

Students and employees may use their NetID credentials to log in to StudentLink and view their account balances and history, see their housing balance and history, report a lost card or make a deposit.

Parents and guests may make a deposit by using StudentLink and clicking “Add Jaybucks Here” on the menu on the left side. (No login required.)

Parents and guests may view account balances and history and housing balance and history, but they must first have their student log in to StudentLink and grant access to them.

JayBuck$ vs. Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars

The Dining Dollars account—accessed through your ID card—is connected to your meal plan. This is a service that is supported by University Food Services. The amount of funds available each semester depends upon the meal plan you selected. The Dining Dollars account can only be used at the University Food Services locations on campus. By default, transactions at these locations will access your Dining Dollars first, then JayBuck$.

Note: Any Dining Dollars remaining at the end of the semester will be lost.

JayBuck$

JayBuck$ is a stored value account, giving students the flexibility to pay for purchases with their ID card. You can use your card at any number of vendors on campus, including all Dining Services locations, vending machines, the bookstore and printers.

JayBuck$ works as a debit card, allowing you to pre-deposit money for spending. Funds loaded remain valid as long as you are at Creighton (they carry over each semester).

Accepting JayBuck$ for an Event

Your Creighton group or organization can accept JayBuck$ by checking out one of our handheld devices. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Email us for more information.

1.5% Usage Fee

Credit card companies generally charge merchants 1.8% - 5% of the total sale for using their cards. However, merchants do not need to worry about bounced checks or insufficient funds. The 1.5% collected for JayBuck$, or $1.50 out of a $100 sale, goes back to the program to pay for equipment and software licensing.

There are no costs or fees for individuals to purchase or use JayBuck$.

JayBuck$ accounts remain active throughout your association with the University. No cash withdrawals are permitted. At the conclusion of your academic or professional career with us, you may request a refund of any remaining balance. A balance greater than $25 will be refunded. If you have less than $25 remaining in your account, we will not issue a refund check but encourage you to spend the balance before leaving campus.

Jaybuck$ refund requests that were deposited by yourself or a parent/guardian will be processed upon request. Any funds that were deposited to your Jaybuck$ account by a department are unable to be refunded. The funds will remain in your Jaybucks$ account and you have the opportunity to spend those funds on the Barnes and Noble website or at the iJay store by contacting ijay@creighton.edu with your request.
