Paramedicine Program Director/Full-time Faculty

Creighton University College of Nursing is seeking qualified candidates for a 12-month full-time, non-tenure track faculty Paramedicine Program Director position in its on-site Paramedicine Program in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to the administrative Program Director role, the candidate will also teach in the classroom and supervise students during practicum and simulation/lab experiences as needed.  The Program Director collaborates with the Department Chair for the organization, administration, periodic review, continuous improvement, and general effectiveness of the program. 

 

Program Director administrative duties responsibilities include: 

• evaluating and assuring clinical education effectiveness through a schedule of regular site visits to the clinical education partners; 

• providing documented records and assessment of the clinical component of the program; 

• maintaining thorough knowledge of current accreditation and certification procedures; and 

• active engagement in meaningful service and scholarship activities that align with the College’s performance standards for rank and university expectations.

 

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the minimum of a Master’s degree and at least three years of fieldwork experience as a Paramedic or Registered Nurse with Critical Care experience are required.  If current degree is Baccalaureate level, then initiation of a Masters or Doctoral program within the first year of employment is required. (Creighton University may provide financial and resource support for full-time faculty educational pursuits.)

 

Prior experience as an innovative teacher in both classroom and clinical settings, learning assessment, and use of varied instructional strategies and technologies preferred.

 

Candidates are required to hold current certification and an unencumbered license to practice as a Paramedic and as an EMS Instructor in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for such.
