Monica Boomgaarn, MSN, RN

Instructor

Monica Boomgaarn, MSN, RN, is an instructor in the College of Nursing at Creighton University. With degrees in Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership, she focuses on mental health simulation and violence reduction. Her scholarly work explores innovative methods to enhance mental health simulations and didactic instruction, ensuring nursing students are well-prepared for real-world challenges. She is also part of a research team investigating the integration of AI in nursing academia.
Monica has presented her work on mental health simulation at the 2024 American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) conference. Her research contributes to advancing nursing education by fostering critical thinking, empathy, and evidence-based practice. Committed to innovation in nursing education, she aims to bridge gaps in mental health training, preparing future nurses to deliver compassionate and effective care in an evolving healthcare landscape.
