2018? The Two Goats. Text by PimTranslation. Illustrated by Osang Art. Paperbound. Bangkok: Series #6B:1: Reading Support Foundation: Greenlife Printing. $1 from Nuchanat Rongroang, ThaiRRShop, May, '18.
This version of a classic fable starts by establishing two nearby herds of mountain goats – one golden goats, and the other black goats -- each with powerful leaders. Then, perhaps somewhat incredibly, both herds want to cross the bridge to the opposite side at the same time. In this version, the battle of the two chief goats breaks the bridge, and both fall to their death. This series does not have a page for stating a moral. Instead the last page is the outline of a drawing that a reader can complete. The penultimate page has a section at the bottom titled "Teachings obtained from this tale." Here the teaching is: "Use of force to settle problems inevitably leads to harmful consequences." There are problems with the English editing in this version, for example in this sentence: "No any animals dared to come into the fight with." The front-cover on both sides has symbols for Green Life publishing, Green Ocean paper, and yessoy ink. The publisher's symbol of two purple heads reading an open red book appears here only on the back cover. There is a page of vocabulary on the inside back cover, with a picture of all six books in the series on the back cover. The pamphlet is twelve pages long, about 7½" x 6¾".
2018? The Unruly Elephant. Text by PimTranslation. Illustrated by Osang Art. Paperbound. Bangkok: Series #6B:2: Reading Support Foundation: Greenlife Printing. $1 from Nuchanat Rongroang, ThaiRRShop, May, '18.
This story is new to me. A bully of an elephant rides rough over other animals and collects food only for himself. His victims gather together and, at the advice of a wise rat, change venues. The elephant is left alone in the forest which he has stripped. He soon atrophies and dies. This series does not have a page for stating a moral. Instead the last page offers two pictures of the elephant with the challenge of noticing the differences between the two. The penultimate page has a section at the bottom titled "Teachings obtained from this tale." Here the teaching is: "Nobody wants undoubtedly to associate with people with the habit of thugs." There are problems with the English editing in this version, especially in setting up clear quotations from characters in the story. The front-cover on both sides has symbols for Green Life publishing, Green Ocean paper, and yessoy ink. The publisher's symbol of two purple heads reading an open red book appears here only on the back cover. There is a page of vocabulary on the inside back cover, with a picture of all six books in the series on the back cover. The pamphlet is twelve pages long, about 7½" x 6¾".
2018? The Three Children. Text by PimTranslation. Illustrated by Osang Art. Paperbound. Bangkok: Series #6B:3: Reading Support Foundation: Greenlife Printing. $1 from Nuchanat Rongroang, ThaiRRShop, May, '18.
This story is new to me. A father has three sons, the elder two of which are "unruly, crafty and cunning." The father gives an egg to each to see hatched. The older two go off and buy chicks and so hope to claim the prize. The wise father notes that it is too quick for an egg to hatch. He urges the two older sons to follow the behavior of the youngest. This series does not have a page for stating a moral. Instead the last page offers pictures of seven characters and then silhouettes with which to match them. The penultimate page has a section at the bottom titled "Teachings obtained from this tale." Here the teaching is: "Honesty is lasting, knavery is short-lived." The front-cover on both sides has symbols for Green Life publishing, Green Ocean paper, and yessoy ink. The publisher's symbol of two purple heads reading an open red book appears here only on the back cover. There is a page of vocabulary on the inside back cover, with a picture of all six books in the series on the back cover. The pamphlet is twelve pages long, about 7½" x 6¾".
2018? The Huntsman and the Lions. Text by PimTranslation. Illustrated by Osang Art. Paperbound. Bangkok: Series #6B:4: Reading Support Foundation: Greenlife Printing. $1 from Nuchanat Rongroang, ThaiRRShop, May, '18.
This story is new to me. Father and son lions are moving through the forest teasing each other when a huntsman – complete with sunglasses – shoots the father, as he declares, "to test my shooting skills." The young lion asks what the hunter would think if a lion invaded his home to "test his hunting skills." This series does not have a page for stating a moral. Instead the last pages offer various puzzles and mazes. The last regular page has a section at the bottom titled "Teachings obtained from this tale." Here the teaching is: "Doing anything must not cause suffering to others." The front-cover on both sides has symbols for Green Life publishing, Green Ocean paper, and yessoy ink. The publisher's symbol of two purple heads reading an open red book appears here only on the back cover. There is a page of vocabulary on the inside back cover, with a picture of all six books in the series on the back cover. The pamphlet is twelve pages long, about 7½" x 6¾".
2018? The House on the Tree. Text by PimTranslation. Illustrated by Osang Art. Paperbound. Bangkok: Series #6B:5: Reading Support Foundation: Greenlife Printing. $1 from Nuchanat Rongroang, ThaiRRShop, May, '18.
This story is new to me. Many animals come to enjoy living in a great tree that supports them. Over time, it becomes too much. The tree has fewer leaves and is overburdened. The tree is blown down. Apparently, this is a short modern fable on maintaining what we have been given. This series does not have a page for stating a moral. Instead the last page here offers two almost-identical drawings. Apparently, readers are asked to fill in the sections of the drawings not yet complete. The last regular page has a section at the bottom titled "Teachings obtained from this tale." Here the teaching is: "Utilization of anything needs to be aware of maintaining and preserving that." The front-cover on both sides has symbols for Green Life publishing, Green Ocean paper, and yessoy ink. The publisher's symbol of two purple heads reading an open red book appears here only on the back cover. There is a page of vocabulary on the inside back cover, with a picture of all six books in the series on the back cover. The pamphlet is twelve pages long, about 7½" x 6¾".

Here is an anomaly. There is already a booklet in this collection with this title and with identical interior art work and texts. In fact the other five booklet cover illustrations pictured on the back cover of this pamphlet are identical with those in this series in our collection. This booklet is the sole exception. Its cover illustration is a segment of one of the pamphlet's central illustrations of the tree and its inhabitants. The cover on our copy in the set is the full-page illustration of monkeys swinging and birds chirping in a nest. This set does not mention GreenLife, Green Ocean, or Yessoy ink. It does show the publisher's symbol twice. As I wrote there, this story is new to me. Many animals come to enjoy living in a great tree that supports them. Over time, it becomes too much. The tree has fewer leaves and is overburdened. The tree is blown down. Apparently, this is a short modern fable on maintaining what we have been given. 2018? The Bear and the Bee. Text by PimTranslation. Illustrated by Osang Art. Paperbound. Bangkok: Series #6B:6: Reading Support Foundation: Greenlife Printing. $1 from Nuchanat Rongroang, ThaiRRShop, May, '18.
This is a variation on classic fables about bears and bees. In this case, the bear finds a hive and wants the honey. The queen bee confronts him: "Do not mess with my hive." The bear does not relent and even laughs at her, and so the queen calls out her young. They attack him from every side. The bear runs away and has not bothered them since then. This series does not have a page for stating a moral. Instead the last page here offers a connect-the-dots drawing. The last regular page has a section at the bottom titled "Teachings obtained from this tale." Here the teaching is: "Union is strength." The front-cover on both sides has symbols for Green Life publishing, Green Ocean paper, and yessoy ink. The publisher's symbol of two purple heads reading an open red book appears here only on the back cover. There is a page of vocabulary on the inside back cover, with a picture of all six books in the series on the back cover. The pamphlet is twelve pages long, about 7½" x 6¾".
