1995 "First Day Covers from Around the World." USA album page and specimen. FDC envelope of June 24, 1995, from Chateau-Thierry to an address in Voorheesville, NY with a 2.80 Franc stamp and a colorful mélange of fable scenes. The page offers a map-sketch showing France's relative position in Europe and several paragraphs on La Fontaine, fables, and French literature. The envelope in English is clearly designated for use in this album or albums like it and is labelled "First Day of Issue, France." Its verso has the title apparently of the whole album, "First Day Covers from Around the World." The envelope fits into a slot in the oversized page. This is one of those eBay experiences where our postage for some postage costs more than the postage item we are purchasing!
