Community and Government Relations

Community and Government

We partner with community and corporate organizations, government agencies and individuals who support our Jesuit, Catholic mission in creating a more just world through a life of service.

We seek partnerships that:

  • Encompass all levels of education
  • Touch the Jesuit, Catholic community
  • Enhance our health care initiatives and relationships
  • Reach underserved and diverse communities
  • Collaborate with government and civic agencies

We develop community programs that foster:

  • Interprofessional Education - Skill-based community programming that emphasizes the students' professional development.
  • Service Learning - Forms students into "men and women for and with others" through experiential learning and reflection.
  • Community Service - Enables faculty, staff and students of the University to carry out the Jesuit mission of service and empower them to examine, engage and change the world.
  • Faculty/Staff Community Participation - Time devoted to service on boards, commissions and committees-locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • Community Resource - The University provides venues for community events, including educational and athletic events.
  • Government Relations - Promote the University as a resource and collaborator with public officials to address community needs.
