Creighton Cupboard

The Creighton Cupboard is an on-campus food pantry that serves our undergraduate, graduate, and professional students impacted by food insecurity. 

Location: Student Health Education & Compliance Office (KFC 225)

Who can use the Creighton Cupboard? All current undergraduate, graduate, and professional students experiencing any form of food insecurity. 

To combat food insecurity at Creighton, Creighton Cupboard provides a range of nonperishable food items and hygiene products. The pantry is supported by Student Life staff and student employees. The initiative is also made possible by support from our partners in Creighton Dining and Creighton Students Union. 

While food insecurity isn't always noticeable, it is an issue that impacts a significant number of college students. The United States Department of Agriculture defines the following food security levels:

You can shop the pantry during open hours. New hours coming soon! 

You can pick up bi-weekly customized orders that include nonperishable items at the Cupboard office or curbside.

Please note: if you are picking up curbside, we ask that you wait for an email confirming that your order has been placed for pickup.

Where is the pantry located? 
Inside the Student Health Education and Compliance office (KFC 225), just down the hall from the Recreation and Wellness Front Desk.
 

Who is eligible to use the Creighton Cupboard? 
All current undergraduate, graduate, and professional students experiencing any form of food insecurity.
 

What information is collected from students?  

The Creighton Cupboard collects:  

Demographic data: to analyze data and find out where our gaps in service are 

NetID: to communicate with users through email when orders are ready for pickup. Each user will be given a unique Creighton Cupboard ID number to identify their pickups.  

What is available for customized orders? How often can I order? 

Each food pickup contains at least 17 choice items (listed below.) You can order bi-weekly. If you need items before the next pickup you can contact the cupboard for services. Orders that are not picked up within 3 business days are unpacked. 

  • 1 loaf of bread (Rotellas Honey Wheat usually)  
  • 5 chicken breast –cooked  
  • 6 eggs 
  • 1 gallon of 2% milk (occasionally 1%) 
  • 4 assorted yogurts 
  • 1 bag of tortillas  
  • 2 canned fruits (occasionally fruit cups)  
  • 2 canned vegetables  
  • 2 canned beans 
  • 2 individual cereals 
  • 2 packages instant oatmeal  
  • 1 jar peanut butter 
  • 1 jar jelly  
  • 4 cans soup  
  • 4 granola bars 
  • 4 cereal bars 
  • 1 package microwaveable macaroni and cheese 
  • 2 packages ramen  

Additional items not included in pickups that you will find in the pantry include:  

  • Choice of baking products, pancake mixes, Pasta selections, Sauces, instant rice, canned chicken, canned tuna, some gluten free choices, large cereal boxes. 
  • Toiletries (toilet paper, facial tissues,) Sanitizer and hand wipes 
  • Personal Hygiene items (toothpaste, tooth brushes, floss, deodorant, soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, brushes, combs 
  • Diapers and baby wipes

How do I receive my pickup? 

The Creighton Cupboard offers two ways to receive your pick up: 

  1. Pick up in the KFC (room 225) there is where you will find the Creighton Cupboard team ready. All you will need is your unique Creighton Cupboard ID number for them to pull your order.  
  2. Curbside pickup- you must be parked on the southside of KFC. The driveway located between Swanson Hall and Kiewit Fitness Center (KFC.)  Call 402-546-6979 upon arrival with your unique Creighton Cupboard ID number and our team will bring to your car. Cupboard Map .pdf 

Items can be donated to the cupboard. Please email Cupboard@creighton.edu or call 402-546-6979 for further questions. 

The Creighton Cupboard is able to shelve nonperishables and personal hygiene items. 

If you would like to hold your own drive, please contact us at cupboard@creighton.edu.  

We appreciate every item that is donated to the pantry. Here are items that are in demand: 

  • Any items from our normal inventory list
  • Snacks (granola bars, fruit cups, nuts, trail mix, dried fruit, popcorn, pretzels, etc.) 
  • Ready-to-eat meals that do not require refrigeration

No expired items will be accepted.
