- Nursing Pharmacology is a required and vital course in the nursing curriculum, containing numerous new and challenging concepts. Educational research supports utilization of multiple teaching and learning strategies to improve nursing student success and retention, but a gap exists related to specific course placement. Purpose: To prevent interruptions in progression, an online summer Pharmacology course was created after sophomore year to offer students the option to take Pharmacology prior to fall term. 2023
