Become a Bluejay
Ready to become a student at Creighton? If you're about to graduate from high school or want to transfer to Creighton, this is the place to start. Use the free Common Application if you’re a first-time student applying to multiple schools or the free Bluejay Premier Application if you only plan to apply to Creighton. Please do not submit both a Bluejay Premier Application and a Common Application.
If you’ve been out of high school for at least one semester and have enrolled at another college or university, you should apply with the undergraduate transfer application. If you have been out of high school for more than six years, use the adult undergraduate application.
Submitting Documents
Standard Mail or Electronically
Note that some documents (transcripts, recommendations, scores) will not be considered official documents if you, as a student, submit them. For example, a high school transcript must come from a school official. Submit a document electronically.

Naviance/Family Connection
If you apply to Creighton as an undergraduate but do not use the Common Application, you must check the box in Naviance that indicates you did not apply to Creighton via the Common App. If you don’t check that box, we’ll be unable to see or access your documents in Naviance.
Application Tips for Undergraduates
- Check your calendar to avoid missing deadlines.
Remember that submitting documents electronically doesn’t mean they are added to your file immediately. You should aim to submit early so you meet the deadlines. Keep a calendar of important deadlines of the schools you are considering. If you aren’t sure of a deadline—ask!
- Don’t hesitate to contact your admissions counselor.
Did you know that you have a specific admissions counselor to work with throughout your college search? They will even be the first one reading your application when you apply!
We’re here to answer any questions you have, big or small. Introduce yourself!
- Don’t stress over the essay topic. For real.
We wouldn’t be able to summarize ourselves in less than a page and neither can you. You have a variety of interests, experiences and talents, and we don’t expect you to fit it all into one short essay. In fact, essays that try to cover too much typically aren’t very well-written.
Instead, focus on one thing that you’d like to share with us: an experience that shaped you, a lesson you’ve learned or something that brings you joy.
- We don’t know what you don’t tell us.
Maybe your grades were lower one semester, or you couldn’t complete a class.
If there is a reason for these discrepancies, tell us. We want to make sure we have the full picture when reviewing your application.
- When listing activities, use the full name, not abbreviations.
There are a lot of acronyms, and we want to make sure we understand your interests. Even if you think it’s a common abbreviation, it might not be used outside of your high school or state. Help us understand your application by including what abbreviations stand for.
- Give your teachers, counselors and staff time to write recommendations and send in transcripts.
Remember, you’re not the only student who needs a transcript sent or an evaluation completed.
Don’t wait until the last minute to ask your school official to write a recommendation or send a document over. Aim to give them at least a few weeks to complete these.
- Confirm that your application is complete before you cross it off your to-do list.
The easiest way to confirm that we have all of your required materials is by logging in to your student portal.
Then, congratulate yourself! You just completed a big milestone.
